Abstract

This article tells the experience of the work of a Polytechnic Engineer, while he served in the Factories and Masteries of Army (FAMAE), relating the methodology and experience lived in the development of a project, related to establishing capacities and development strategies for the production of military elements and related services that cover the needs of the National Defense. In this sense, in 2019 a problem such as “the inability to carry out large-scale explosives destruction services” is evidenced, which, under a Systems Engineering methodology, it was concluded pertinent to suggest the lease to National Assets of a Sufficient physical space for FAMAE to acquire the capacity to carry out large-scale explosives destruction services. After which, on November 26, 2020, the FAMAE “Explosive waste distribution, collection and destruction center” was inaugurated, located in the La Negra Industrial District, in Antofagasta.
