The present paper describes the effect of ferrocene-derived catalysts on solid composite propellants, such as fuels in rocket engines. Also, the tests are described in the Institute of Investigations and Control of the Army’s (IDIC) chemical laboratory, where the results of the catalytic activity of ferrocenes on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) to different percentages in weight were obtained. Subsequently, the product that was presented in the 4% by weight concentration mixture was selected and the industrial level tests were carried out in the Rocket and Missile Plant of the Army Factory and Arsenals (FAMAE), to determine the effectiveness of the ferrocene-derived catalyst against the burning rate of the composite solid propellant and compared with ferric oxide as a catalyst. The tests were developed in the static fire bank in FAMAE offices.
